Challenge Accepted (and Won!)
You may have noticed the sparkly little button I now have on my blog. A couple of weeks ago I posted an anniversary card I also submitted to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge. I recently found out I won the challenge! Now, it is not because of any incredible artistic merit on my part, as the winner was randomly selected, but I WON! I get a free crafting class. I haven't chosen it yet, but I'm very excited (and I am sure that you will be hearing all about it in the future!).
I enjoyed participating not just because I won, but because as a new blogger I'm really enjoying becoming a member of the blogging community- participating in challenges like this one, or posting on a theme day such as Tablescape Thursday on Between Naps on the Porch. I enjoy reading other blogs and learning about different things by reading what others have to say about any topic from crafting to teaching to my favorite, food. I hope there are one or two people (or hopefully more!) who might enjoy what I have to say or like to see what crazy shenanigans are going on in my little world.
So, for today's post I decided to participate in the next challenge on the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog- "Camping". Not to win again, but because it is fun coming up with a design for the challenge and because I look forward to seeing what other participants will be creating. I hope they enjoy mine as well.
Now, I am not a camper. I went a couple of times as a child, including Girl Scout Camp, but it really not something I enjoy. (Although the "Glamping" fad has me slightly intrigued!) The best thing I remember about the few times that I went was roasting marshmallows to make S'mores. There is nothing like that ooey-gooey marshmallow and chocolate in between those graham crackers! When I think about camping I think about those campfires and since a young friend of mine recently came home from summer camp, I decided to create a special scrapbook page for her to display her favorite camp photos. These two little stinkers are roasting their marshmallows around a cheery fire under a starry sky. (I'm not sure, but based on the bling on their bows, they might be glamping too!) I placed the two big stars in the sky to "frame" the pictures. I used the "Create a Critter" and "Life's a Beach" cartridges to create this page.
I am linking up to the challenge, Fantabulous Cricut Challenge- Camping. I hope that you liked my version of "camping" and that you might stop by the site to see some other participants' entries as well.
Thanks for stopping by!
