Happy National Lighthouse Day!
I have always loved lighthouses. I almost have to- there are at least seven within a three hour driving distance of my home. There are a must see whenever we visit the beach, or even when we drive across the local bridge tunnel. When I found out that August 7 is National Lighthouse day, I knew that my Fantabulous Cricut Challenge post for the "Beach" theme just had to be a lighthouse!
According to my research, National Lighthouse Day was established in 1989 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the signing of the Congressional Act to commission the first lighthouse in the U.S. (at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay and one of the seven close to me!). It is a day set aside to recognize the importance of lighthouses in our nation's history. (For more information see www.lighthousefoundation.org).
I just learned how to do a box card and now I am hooked! I am still a novice, but I am having a good time learning!
There are several great videos online which show you how to do a basic card, plus of course, the fantastic Box Card cartridge that Cricut has! (Which I have my eye on for several future projects!)
I started from scratch with the box and added images from the "Life is a Beach" cartridge. Of course, the sentiment has to be "You Light Up my Life"!
If it isn't a card, you will get two entries into the drawing!
Be sure to stop by the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to see what all of the creative crafters are doing with this theme. We'd love to see your project as well!
Happy National Lighthouse Day! Thanks for stopping by!
