Happy 243rd Birthday, USA! A Fourth of July Tablescape
It has been a very long time since I posted a tablescape. In fact, I believe that it was for the Fourth of July last year! But what better reason to create a special table for your family than the anniversary of our country's freedom!
It will most likely be pretty hot tomorrow, but I just can't resist a 4th of July cookout and eating outside during the summer- heat and all! We have a large umbrella that shades the table and we can usually find a cool breeze if we time our meal right.
I found this "tablecloth" yesterday in the fabric section of our local Walmart. Unfortunately, all of our local fabric stores have shut down, but I can occasionally find some fun fabric there. This is a heavy, extra-wide cotton that is perfect for our holiday table. The napkins are from the "dollar bin" at Target. They are intended to be handkerchiefs, but they are perfect for the job. The flatware is from Amazon and I am not a fan of them. No one loves to order online more than I do, but sometimes, it's a miss.
I love these little Uncle Sams that I use every year. They are getting a little old and worn out. This may be there last year unless I can come up with a creative way to repair them. The salt and pepper shakers are also from the Target dollar bin this year. (Is it possible that I spend too much time there?). I wish that they had had another pair- I would have liked them for the other side of the table.

I found the flowers at our local grocery store. I am not sure that they are found in nature that color, but they are perfect for the occasion.
At first I thought that I would like to use these 3d paper initials as "place-cards". I made them on my Cricut with cuts from SVGCuts.com. I decided against it, because they turned out a little larger than I thought they would be.
Bird's-eye view.
I really can't figure out how I ended up with one red bowl and the rest striped. I have had them for ages and originally had more. I might have to shop the after-holiday sales to pick up some new bowls (and decor?)!

Beautiful and festive 4th of July table. Thanks for joining us at bbtb2.
ReplyDeleteThe initials look cute and festive, even if bigger than you wanted. Your tablescape looks very inviting and perfectly themed for the 4th! I'd enjoy eating with you!

Cute table setting. Those letters look great even though you didn't use them, maybe you can for something else. I have made a couple of them from svgcuts and know that they take skill to put together. Thanks for joining us on Bitten by the Bug 2.
