Happy World Bee Day!

Did you know that World Bee Day is May 20th?

I didn't either!  Apparently the United Nations designated May 20th as a day to recognize the importance of bees as nature's pollinators and to raise awareness about the threats that they face.

Well, in recognition of this day and in an effort to catch up on some craft projects, I decided to make this gift card box.  A free cut provided by svgcuts, it was designed to be a photo box, but it is perfect for gift cards, especially those which have the big cardboard backing attached to them.  Since my daughter's birthday was quite some time ago and now that shops are opening up, it was certainly time for me to get her gift to her.

My daughter eventually would like to be a beekeeper so I thought adding the bee theme to the basic box would be super cute, especially as it is now World Bee Day!

I used the svgcuts box pattern, embossed the top with a beehive pattern and gently rubbed a white ink pad over the pattern to bring it out some.  I added bees and a daisy from Cricut Design space and the daisy center is a black "rhinestone".  The ribbon is black with some sparkle (of course) which you can't really see in the picture.  The tag is also from Cricut Design space with an added message.

I have decided to try a Challenge again and today I am linking up to The Sisterhood of Crafters, just for fun!

I hope that you are able to get back into your creative space and enjoy a special project this week!

Thanks for stopping by!
