A Start of Summer Tablescape
Last weekend was a big one- the first day of summer and Father's Day! In this crazy year, I wanted to make our Sunday brunch a little extra special and celebrate both occasions.
I made this lighthouse with my Cricut a couple of years ago after a visit to the Cape Hatteras light. I have been wanting to make a tablescape using it ever since then, but just haven't had the chance. You can see more on the lighthouse here.

These super cute pelican plates came from Pier One a year or so ago. Did you know that Pelicans are supposed to be good luck? I just love to see them flying overhead. They are such fascinating creatures!
The dinner plates came from TJ Maxx several years ago. They are a go-to plate in the summer.
I made the place cards with my Cricut as well. We did not have a large party, but why not go the extra mile? It's the little touches that make celebrations super special!
Don't you love the cute little sea bird peeking around the glass? He was a Christmas ornament that I picked up at a gift shop years ago. So sweet- I love seeing them at the beach!
The place mats came from Pier One (I sure am going to miss them, aren't you?). The napkins are from Target. There are also little shells placed around the lighthouse. We have picked them up in our trips to the beach.
All in all it was such a nice brunch. It is so good to begin expanding our circle beyond my husband and I and enjoy a little entertaining on the sunporch of our new home. We have so much more to look forward to!
Including Fourth of July!
I really have not started decorating for the Fourth yet, but I have this little vignette on the porch. It is a good reminder of what Memorial Day and the Fourth of July are really about!
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope that you are enjoying this first week of summer!
