I'm Late! I'm Late!

It is painful for me to admit, but I did not get all of my Valentine's cards done on time.  I cannot stand to be late. At one point, in an earlier career, dire consequences would occur for my clients or myself if I completed a task late. I just don't do late.

Except this time.  I don't know how it happened but my daughter's Valentine's Card just didn't get finished before the big day.

But- that just led to an opportunity to create a different card.

Since I was planning on getting her and her husband a gift card to their favorite Mexican restaurant anyway, I just had to make a play on words.  You have to be able to laugh at your mistakes!

I made the entire card with the "Ole" cartridge.  (Yes, I even had the actual physical cartridge with my first Cricut!)  The letters had to be cut from vinyl - I could not glue those tiny letters- but they were still difficult to place!

I think I will be forgiven for being tardy this time.  I hope so!

St. Patrick's Day cards are being worked on as we speak!  I will not be late again!

Another way that the timing of this card was fortuitous- the Bitten by the Bug 2 Challenge this week is Bon Appetite- A Food Themed Challenge.  Click through the link to see what the talented crafters have cooked up!

I hope that you can find some joy in your mistakes!  As we say in my family- a delayed gift extends the happiness!

Thank you for stopping by today!

~Cynthia

  1. Being late works in your favor for a yummy/tasty gift card holder creation. Mexican food gift card is an added plus. I also have the Ole physical cartridge.

  5. Such a great punny card! I think it possibly turned out even cuter than an actual Valentine card would have been, since the gift was a Mexican restaurant card. And your card looks good enough to eat and take a sip of those margaritas....yum! Thanks for joining us and sharing your project with us at BBTB2 for the food challenge!

  9. Cynthia, I thought I commented on this last week, but I don't see it showing up, so perhaps I looked at this but didn't actually click publish! So sorry for the lateness!!!! I loved this, as punny projects are my favorite, and thought the taco themed card with the restaurant gift cards was inspired!
    :)
