Christmas Season Tablescape in a Full House
I know that the world around me is moving on from Christmas to Valentine’s Day, but I am not ready to let go of a wonderful holiday!
You see, this year, I was blessed to have my entire family over for Christmas dinner. My daughters and their significant others were in town for the holiday and the rest of the family joined us for the big day. Yes! Blessed is the right word.
This was the “main table”. There were other equally decorated tables in this area of the house and conversation and laughter flowed easily between them. My Spode plates and glasses were in full use this year, along with my grandmother’s silverplate (I have not yet unpacked the silver from the move a couple of years ago!) My daughter found these pretty napkins this fall and they go perfectly with the brass napkin rings I have had for years.
These special edition Spode plates, dated 2007, were at the head and foot of the table. Why did I only buy two?
Snowflakes covered the top of the tablecloth, but this beautiful landscape featuring Santa himself lines the drop. (Does anyone else find it difficult to get a picture of the side of a tablecloth?) I found it at TJ Max this year and fell in love with it- I think it matches the theme of the tablescape perfectly!
As I mentioned in my last post, I placed little favors at each place setting. I enjoy sending my guests home with a little treat. I picture them relaxing at the end of the day with a little piece of chocolate or other sweet and reminiscing over good food, good company and good conversation.
This was the treat for this occasion. You can read more about it here.
How cute is this little salt and pepper set? It came from the local grocery store- I couldn’t resist bringing it home!
So, if you are looking for a super fancy (or better photographed) tablescape this season, this will not be it. But you can be sure that there will be very few that brought more joy and blessings to the creator!
I hope that you had a blessed holiday season and I wish you much love and laughter around your table in 2023!
Thanks for stopping by today!
~Cynthia
