Mickey Vacation

Every other year or so, my family goes to Orlando, either to "Harry Potter World" or Walt Disney World".  Very often these trips coincide with a big family celebration which makes our vacation an even bigger event.  This is one of those years.

I always make a big deal about about the announcement of when we are going, where we are staying and those special events that we will be attending while there.  For the past few years, that has meant that I sent a package to my daughters, wherever they may be at the time, full of treats, books, dvds or even silly little toys that correspond to the park we will be visiting.

This  is a Disney year and we are celebrating my daughter's graduation.  When I saw that this week's Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog theme is "Vacation", I knew that I would have to get started on this year's "announcement".

I decided to make an "S" card (aka "Z" card). I was inspired by Cindy over at "Creating with the Heart".  She has a great tutorial which makes them so easy to make!  A great big "Thank You!" goes out to Cindy for her great video!

This Mickey Mouse makes me smile.  I added a graduation cap (with a little glitter, of course!) He looks so proud of it! Inside is the information about the dates and the resort where we are staying.  I was a little leery of making a layered image this small, (the whites of his eyes are super small!), but it went together very easily and cut very smoothly.  I imagine that I will be using him a lot for more cards and scrapbook pages in the future!

Here is the information about this week's Fantabulous Cricut Challenge:

Challenge #308-Vacations
Make a project about your vacation!

The FCCB Design Team is sponsoring a $25 gift card at

Amazon!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

If it isn't a card, you will get two entries into the drawing!

I have been asked where Gardenias and Glitter has been lately.  It is true, I haven't been posting much because of a big project at work.  It is taking up ALL of my time!  It will be over in about a month, and I will have more time for blogging, just in time for Pumpkin Spice season and all sorts of Fall Fun!

In the meantime, head on over to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to see what the talented crafters have posted there, or post your own fantabulous project!

Thanks for stopping by today!
