Getting a Head Start on Christmas Decorating

Now that we have enjoyed a Happy Thanksgiving- friends, family and LOTS of food, it is time to put away the browns and golds of fall and start with the reds, greens of Christmas and of course, sparkle!

I began my Christmas crafting/decorating with this 3-D snowy village.  Ever since I made the Halloween Haunted House, I have been obsessed with 3-D projects!  Since I couldn't figure out a way to make the Haunted House look Christmas-y, I looked around to find another building to make.  Instead of just one, I found a village!

These super cute buildings and trees are from the Winter Woodland cartridge.  I glued velum in the windows and placed a battery operated votive candle in each for a beautiful wintery glow.  The sleigh is from the Anna's Holiday Home Decor Cartridge.  It is just sitting there waiting for Santa! The whole village is sitting on glittery white cardstock (from Michael's?) that shimmers in the candlelight.

I just love this cute little church! I think if I make another one I will put a little bell in the tower.  I added the cross, just put two rectangles together in Design Space.

You can add an upstairs window to this cute little cottage, if you want, but I like it like this. I did add some trim to the chimneys and instead of leaving the shutters the same color of the house, I added them in the same red as the roof and doors.

The village fits perfectly into this week's challenge at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog!

The winner will receive a $20 Gift Certificate!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

If it isn't a card, you will get two entries into the drawing!

Hop over to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog to see what the talented crafters have created.  Maybe you will be inspired to begin your Christmas decorating as well!
