Thanksgiving Place Cards and Favor Boxes
This week's Fantabulous Cricut Challenge theme is of course, "Thankful/Thanksgiving". Every year I am most thankful for my family and friends that gather for our traditional Thanksgiving event. Yes, I called it an event. Because it is. Those of you who know me or have followed Gardenias and Glitter for awhile know that we don't just eat on Turkey Day. We have a hayride, Oyster Roast, skeet shooting and extremely cut-throat games of Cornhole, among other things. And we have been doing it for about forty-five years!
So, I went to one of our faithful sponsors, Dreaming Tree, to look for a project that most fit the theme. I found these pretty little favor boxes that I am also using for place cards.
The box and adornment is a free svg file from Dreaming Tree. The tag is a Cricut cut (Craft Room Basics) with the name written in Design Space. I used a combination of bronze and copper metallic papers from my stash. I filled the gaps in the writing with a metallic pen (thanks for the tip, Karla!). I have been looking, unsuccessfully thus far, for some metallic bronze ribbon for the tie. This twine is a little rustic for the shiny papers that I am using. I'll keep looking!
The box is the perfect size for a truffle, a few Hershey Kisses or a mini cupcake. Hmmm, I wonder what treat I should put inside!?!
I really think that the project turned out very well and it is super easy. I thank Dreaming Tree for sharing this cute file for free! Now, if I can only find the time to make 21 more for all of our guests!
I hope that you will stop by the Fantabulous Cricut Challege Blog and post your own project or see what the other creative crafters are doing with this theme!
If it isn't a card, you will get two entries into the drawing!
