Happy National Cookie Day!
As we are all beginning to plan our holiday baking, it is time to celebrate National Cookie Day! (I'm all for everyday being Cookie Day!) My daughter, Victoria, brought the most delicious, and different, cookies to Thanksgiving that I just knew had to be on my Christmas Cookie List this season. Chai Cookies!
Apparently, the recipe began when Taylor Swift posted a picture of the cookies on Instagram and a fan asked for the recipe. The rest is cookie history. And the recipe could not be easier.
Your favorite sugar cookie mix OR favorite sugar cookie recipe (you can find my favorite at Sally's Baking Addiction)
1 Chai Tea Bag
If using a mix, (which my daughter did) add the contents of the chai tea bag after adding the eggs and water to the mix. Then mix everything together and bake as directed.
If you are using your favorite sugar cookie recipe, add the chai tea after you add the eggs and vanilla to the recipe. Bake as directed.
For extra holiday goodness, add a little frosting to the cookies (not pictured):
Sift together 1 cup powdered sugar, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/teaspoon nutmeg. Add 3 Tablespoons of milk or eggnog (more if you wish to make a glaze). Top with a little sprinkling of cinnamon.
Boom! A little bit of easy holiday goodness on your plate! (Or maybe for Santa on Christmas Eve!)
I hope that you enjoy a little Christmas Cookie goodness on this National Cookie Day!
Thanks for stopping by!
