Some Independence Day Crafts

My poor dear blog!  I have neglected you so.  Posting only every other week, if that.  Not trying new recipes or exploring new crafts. I am sorry! I will try to do better. The Fourth of July is a great opportunity to work on new projects.  Christmas in July is a good time to get started on those fall and holiday ideas. I'll start now.

I begin with some ideas for the family Fourth of July celebration.  I previewed this Uncle Sam hat centerpiece for Memorial Day, but did not add the "sparklers".  The cut is from this week's sponsor, Dreaming Tree. (Don't you just love their cuts!)  I made a few changes- only three sparklers (I like things in threes) and my pipe cleaner stars would not cooperate, so they were removed.  I may still add some flowers or some flags, but I can't decide right now.

I also put together a sample favor box.  I love "french fry" boxes for favors for just about any occasion.  This cut came from Cricut's "Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2".  The stars are from "Ribbons and Rosettes" and the sentiment is from "Kim Byers- Oh My Stars!" (and free!).  Everything but the box liner is glitter paper (of course!).  I popped the stars with some pop dots, but I don't think I will do that for the rest of them.  It is too difficult to add the sentiment on the curved surface. They also don't work very well on a glitter paper.  I found some super cute Fourth of July sunglasses for "swag" along with some patriotic Hershey Kisses.  I will be shopping for additional treats later this week.

These projects are just in time for the next Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog's next challenge!
