Hauntingly Fun 2!
I couldn't resist "building" another Haunted House this year! This one, made for a friend, is new and "improved".
Last year's version, also made from the "Happy Hauntings" cartridge, was a little more gloomy in black and grays.
You can see more photos and more about how I made it here. The new model has a brighter roof in a burgundy burnished metallic paper that adds color, but a kind of old tin roof look as well. The windows in this year's house are clear velum so the tea candles I put in the middle flicker and glow and add even more spookiness to the house.
I really enjoy creating decorations for the holidays, either for my home or for my friends and family. I have a tendency to go overboard when I decorate for the holidays, but the decor means a little more to me when I put my heart and soul into the creation of it.
There is also something to be said for the "therapy" of creativity. Something I have learned to appreciate recently even more than before. Treat yourself to some time to enjoy your favorite hobby, even when you don't necessarily feel like you have the time or energy to do so. There will be stress relief and pride in the end product that really can't be replicated by other activities.
Enough of the serious stuff! Happy Hauntings to you and thanks for stopping by today!
