Happy Trick or Treat!
Okay, not so much tricks around here- just treats!
This little frog witch is brewing up some sort of gruesome concoction for her Halloween Party. The cauldron is cake with a fondant covering. The frog is fondant and her brew is a combination of frosting and white Sixlet eyes with fondant eyeballs. The flames are Fruit Roll-ups.
Of course, around here no holiday is complete without cupcakes! These went to my husband's office. They are presented here on my Nora Fleming platter. I just love how I can change out the decoration for any occasion!
I am trying to enjoy as much of this fall season outdoors as I possible can. Last night my husband and I lit a little bonfire and roasted a few marshmallows with some family members. We also served the cauldron cake.
Soft drinks were served on the deck in this cute pumpkin bucket my cousin gave me.
We served a special treat for the grown-ups as well. I found this recipe on the Creative Culinary blog, but of course, I made a change or two.

Bourbon and Apple Cider Cocktail
2 oz. chilled Apple Cider
1 oz. Bourbon
2 oz. chilled Ginger Ale
Apple Slices (or cherry) for garnish as desired.
Combine the first two ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake until very cold. Strain the mixture into an ice filled glass and top with the chilled ginger ale. (Or pour into an ice filled glass with the ginger ale already in it.) Stir gently. Garnish with an apple slice or cherry and Enjoy!
NOTE: The original recipe called for an apple slice, but we also tried a cherry garnish and really enjoyed that even more.
And as a last minute Halloween treat (for me!), look what I found on clearance at Williams-Sonoma this morning!
You can see a completed cake on their website here. (It was even cheaper in the store!) I can't wait to use it next year!
I hope you get lots of good treats tonight and Have a Happy and Safe Halloween!
Thanks for stopping by!
