We all have our favorite Trick-or-Treaters that we like to give an extra special treat to during Halloween. Maybe it's your kid's best friend, a kindly neighbor, students or co-workers that you want to give some extra candy or a special little gift to, but you also want to present it in a special way.  This year I decided to pull out my Cricut and make some treat boxes.

I have been intrigued by these "french fry" boxes for quite some time. The box itself came from the "Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2" cartridge, but I got the cut from Design Space. (I probably should have sprung for the whole cartridge as many images as I have purchased!) I welded the leaves to a rectangle and scored the middle and spliced the eyes and mouth out of basic shapes.  The faces make me smile because they look like the jack-o-lanterns that I always had as a child. They are happy faces!

I learned a little trick while making these.  After I spliced the circles for the eyes and mouth, I wanted the machine to cut them out of the box.  I tried and tried, but it would not splice.  After much time, several YouTube videos and maybe a tear or two, I found out that you do not have to splice, you can attach shapes and it will do the same thing!

In the photos they are filled with the Pumpkin Spice Trail Mix I shared here. For Halloween, they will be filled with candy (I can't buy my Halloween candy this early- there won't be anything left for the Trick-or-Treaters!)

This project is perfect for this week's challenge over at The Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog!
