National Penguin Awareness Day!
Did you know that Saturday was National Penguin Awareness Day? I didn't either until I checked social media on Saturday morning! Apparently, January 20th is set aside every year as the day to bring awareness of our cute flightless friends (not to be confused with Penguin Day which is in April!). When I discovered this I knew that I had to change my planned post for this week and instead share the cards that I made for my daughters a couple of days ago.
My daughters are grown up now and live far away. They are often the recipients of the cards and other craft projects I create. Both of them went through a penguin phase when they were younger, liking everything penguin. This image reminds me of that time.
Just a quick note to say "I Miss You!".
And the inside:
The background is a blue glitter paper that I found in a large pad on sale at Michaels before Christmas (really- how could I resist- glitter paper in several colors!). The penguin is from the Simply Charmed cartridge and she is also made, in part, from glitter paper from that pad. Of course, the glittery snowflakes have to have "rhinestones" in the middle!
It just happened to be a happy coincidence that this week's Fantabulous Cricut Challenge is "Snow". Little Miss Penguin fits in perfectly!
If it isn't a card, you will get two entries into the drawing!
Hop on over to Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to post your project(s) (this week's sponsor has some of the cutest stamps- I just ordered some myself!) or to see what the other creative crafters have posted.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Your card is super cute! I really like the bling on the snowflakes.
ReplyDeleteCute card, Cynthia! The blue glitter background is perfect for the card front and continuation into the card. Thanks for educating me on "National Penguin Awareness Day" too.
