Cricut Challenge- Baby!
Several months ago one of my colleagues announced that his wife was pregnant and that they were expecting a baby boy. I was thrilled for them and decided right away to begin an afghan to welcome their new addition. Well, the baby has been born and the afghan is still not finished! It has just been pushed to the back of my crafting To Do List until I am now late. But- this week's Fantabulous Cricut Challenge is "Baby" so, in designing a tag to go along with it, I have renewed my determination to finish the afghan before the child goes to kindergarten!
The tag is a diaper bag which is actually a pocket that the bear and bottle are set in. The duck is set in a side pocket. The bear, bottle and ducky can all be removed and individual messages written on them. All of the cuts are from the "Doodlecharms" cartridge, the first one I every purchased. Still a favorite- so many cute images! I cut the bag three times, one time reversing the image and the second time trimming it to become the outside pocket. The paper for the handle and bag was run through my embossing machine with a dots pattern. It is pictured here with the afghan that it will hopefully one day be gifted with.
Just in case I don't get the blanket finished, I can also put a gift card in the side pocket and place the tag in an envelope. I am going to keep this pattern in mind for future gifts. I think that I could also fashion the diaper bag as a purse and put keys, lipstick and other girly things in the pockets.
I'm so glad that the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge is for "Baby" this week. I hope you are inspired to finish a baby themed project and share it with us. Even if you are not feeling so crafty this week, stop by and see what the other crafters have created.
If it isn't a card, you will get two entries into the drawing!
