A Father's Day Toast to My Dad

It has been a while since I posted a cocktail recipe.  It is time that I shared one that is very special to me.

My Dad would have a Bourbon Manhattan (yes, Bourbon Manhattan!) when we would go out to dinner or sometimes in the evening while sitting on the front porch of the cottage.  I never got his specific recipe, I don't even know if he measured the ingredients, but I have guesstimated the amounts to make it taste fairly close to the ones he enjoyed.

Bourbon Manhattan

2 oz. Bourbon
1/2 oz. Sweet Vermouth
Dash of Bitters
Cherries

Put the ingredients in a cocktail shaker and mix or simply stir the ingredients together and enjoy!

I like to poke holes in the cherries and let them soak up all of that bourbon-y goodness!

Happy Father's Day to all of the Dads, Step-Dads, Granddads, Like-a-Dads and all of the amazing men who mean so much to their families and their communities.  Hug them a little tighter today!

As for me- I miss you Dad! I am enjoying this cocktail and thinking of you today! Cheers!

Thanks for stopping by!

~Cynthia
