Flag Day Wreath- "I Can Make That!"

Did you ever look at something and say to yourself "I can make that"?  And then hours (days?) and tons of money later you do?  I am always doing that.  Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

This time I saw a wreath in Pier One.  I really liked it, but that thought went through my head again, this time with a design change or two.  With patriotic celebrations coming up I decided to give it a shot.

I have made a few wreaths with roses before. Why not make a red, white and blue one for the Flag Day and Independence Day celebrations?  It would even work for Memorial Day and Veteran's Day.  You know I like to commemorate every occasion and most importantly those holidays that celebrate our nation, the military and our flag.

Here is the inspiration piece from Pier One.  The description online says that it is a "Wood Curl Wreath".  Well, now we know that it can be made of paper roses too! At the time of this writing it is also on sale!

Yes, it would have taken me a lot less time to order it, and even to go pick it up, but you see, it is not the time or even the money.  It is the process.  The journey so to speak.  When crafters (or I believe the current term is "makers") decide that they can do a project, they enjoy the process of creating and putting their own individual touches on the final project.

I hope that you find time to enjoy your own creativity today and also take the time to appreciate our flag (or the flag of your own country if you are not from here!) and the country that it represents.

Thanks for stopping by today!

~Cynthia
